Revidering av korrigeringsfaktorer samt omräkning av juverhälsoklasserna
During the last decade, both the dairy industry and experts have identified a need for revising the measurement of the corrected somatic cell count (cSCC) and the udder health classes (UHC) because of the large genetic changes of our Swedish dairy breeds since the calculations were derived. Both the cSCC and UHC are used in the daily udder health work at the farm and are important tools for the farmer. This projects main objective is to revise the cSCC and the calculation of the UHC, with the aim to improve and develop the calculations used to predict cows with a subclinical infectious mastitis. Moreover, since on-line measures of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), which potentially could replace the use of cSCC and UHC, have started in Swedish dairy herd we feel the importance of investigating the ability of LDH to predict cows with infectious mastitis compared to the ability of cSCC and UHC.
